CPAP Medical Supplies Data Breach Settlement: Up to $5,000 for Losses

A proposed class action accuses CPAP Medical Supplies and Services of failing to protect personal data after an unauthorized person broke into its computer network in December 2024. According to the lawsuit, the intruder may have accessed sensitive files containing names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, health insurance details, medical histories, treatment plans, and financial information.

CPAP denies any wrongdoing, and no court has ruled on the claims. Rather than continue litigating, both sides agreed to a settlement, which still requires court approval. A Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for December 1, 2026.

You may be eligible if CPAP notified you that your personal information could have been compromised in this incident. To participate, you must submit a Claim Form by November 26, 2026. You can request two years of free medical data monitoring, a cash payment for documented out-of-pocket losses, or both.

To receive a cash payment, you'll need to provide supporting documentation, such as bank statements or receipts, showing losses or expenses tied to the breach. Self-written notes can help back up other evidence but won't count as proof on their own, and you can't claim reimbursement for costs someone else already covered. The medical monitoring option doesn't require any proof.

The Settlement Administrator may follow up for additional verification, including questions about your signature, to confirm your claim.
