Case overview
What this settlement is about
This federal class action involves allegations that LastPass experienced a cyberattack between August and November 2022, where a threat actor was able to copy both encrypted and unencrypted backup data from its cloud storage. This may have exposed customer vault and account information. LastPass denies any wrongdoing.
A settlement has been reached in this matter. This means the case is in court and not in arbitration, and it has not yet been finally resolved.
If you are eligible, you may submit a claim for benefits. These may include a 6-month Premium subscription upgrade and dark web monitoring services, as well as possible cash payments. You may claim compensation for certain losses, including cryptocurrency losses, but these require documentation showing that the losses are related to the incident. Some payments, such as a $25 statutory payment or a $100 California privacy payment, may only require a claim form and confirmation without needing receipts.
The deadline to submit a claim is July 2, 2026, and a final approval hearing is scheduled for July 14, 2026.
Please note that no payments or benefits will be provided unless the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved.
