Naper Grove Vision Care Settlement: Up to $1,000, Claims Closed

Naper Grove Vision Care has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems in May 2025, referred to as the "Data Incident." During the breach, files containing private information were accessed, potentially including names paired with Social Security numbers and other non-public personal data.

Naper Grove denies any wrongdoing, and the Court has not ruled on the merits of the case. Both sides chose to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of a trial, allowing class members to receive benefits sooner.

Eligible class members can receive one free year of Credit Monitoring through CyEx Medical Shield Complete, which includes $1 million in medical identity theft insurance. They can also choose between two cash options: Cash Payment A, covering documented out-of-pocket losses of up to $1,000, or Cash Payment B, a one-time equal share of a $50,000 fund.

Proof requirements differ by option. Cash Payment A requires documentation, such as bank statements or receipts, linking your losses to the Data Incident. Cash Payment B requires no proof or explanation at all.
