Yahoo ConnectID Tracking Lawsuit

Yahoo is facing a new proposed class action lawsuit alleging that the company secretly tracked millions of internet users through its ConnectID technology. According to the suit, Yahoo used email-based identifiers to follow users across the web, sidestepping standard privacy safeguards and quietly building detailed profiles to strengthen its advertising business, all allegedly without obtaining user consent. The lawsuit seeks monetary damages on behalf of affected users as well as a court order stopping Yahoo from continuing the alleged tracking practices.
