Case overview

What this settlement is about

Tinder is facing a proposed class action settlement after a lawsuit claimed the company charged California subscribers of Tinder Plus and Tinder Gold higher prices based on their age, in violation of California's Unruh Civil Rights Act and the state's Unfair Competition Law. Tinder denies any wrongdoing or liability.

On September 10, 2025, the parties reached a proposed settlement of $60.5 million, which the Court has preliminarily approved. Money will only be distributed if the Court grants final approval at a Final Approval Hearing scheduled for May 20, 2026.

Proof requirements are minimal, since eligibility relies mainly on Tinder's own records. If you already received a notice by email, text, or mail, Tinder's records show you as a class member, and you'll only need to pick a payment method to get your share. If you didn't receive a notice but think you qualify, you must submit a Verification Form (https://veritaconnect.com/tindercalclassaction/Claimant/VerificationForm) by August 18, 2026 to confirm your membership in the class.
