MyHeritage DNA Privacy Arbitration: Up to $15,000

MyHeritage, the DNA testing company known for helping people trace their ancestry, ethnicity, and family history, is facing allegations that it shared users' sensitive DNA-related data without proper consent. According to the claims, tracking technology on MyHeritage.com sent information, including DNA results pages, ancestry results, ethnicity results, and DNA match details, to Google and other third-party advertisers, allegedly without the written consent the law requires. There's no finalized settlement or payout fund yet. Instead, the law firm Labaton Keller Sucharow is investigating potential arbitration claims on behalf of people who used MyHeritage DNA services. Because these would proceed as individual arbitration cases rather than a class action, each claim would be reviewed separately by a neutral arbitrator instead of going through court. Those who sign up would enter into an attorney-client agreement, then log into a secure portal to answer a few questions and upload supporting documents so the firm can evaluate their claim.
