Case overview

What is the Venetian Las Vegas settlement about?

A lawsuit claims Venetian shared website visitors' guest record information and private communications with outside third parties without permission, allegedly violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act (California Penal Code sections 631 to 632). Venetian denies any wrongdoing or violation of law, and no court has ruled on the merits. Rather than continue litigating, both sides agreed to resolve the matter so eligible Californians could be compensated without a prolonged court battle.

Final approval is still pending. A judge will review the settlement's fairness at a Final Approval Hearing set for December 3, 2026, before any money is distributed.

Two groups may be eligible. The Booking group covers California residents who, while physically in California, reserved a Venetian hotel stay through venetianlasvegas.com between September 18, 2024 and March 16, 2026. The Browsing group covers California residents who, while in California, merely visited or navigated that website during the same window.

Payouts are pro rata, meaning each fund is divided among everyone who submits a valid claim, so your actual payment depends on the total number of claimants. The settlement administrator estimates about $71.39 per person for the Booking group and about $3.60 per person for the Browsing group.

No receipts or supporting documents are required, simply sign the claim form, either on paper or electronically, to attest to your eligibility.

Filing online requires the Unique ID and PIN printed on the notice sent to you by mail or email; the Unique ID is a 10-character combination of letters and numbers, and the PIN is 4 digits. Check your Email Notice or Postcard Notice to confirm you're included. If you never received one or have misplaced it, you can contact the Settlement Administrator for your details, or use the "Don't have a Unique ID or PIN?" option on the claim site to file anyway. Once you submit online, you'll receive a confirmation code by email, hold onto it, since the Settlement Administrator may follow up if additional information is needed to process your claim.
