Autobell Car Wash Breach: Up to $5,000 Plus 2 Years of Credit Monitoring

Autobell Car Wash, LLC has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit over a targeted cyberattack on its computer systems, referred to in the case as the "Data Incident", that occurred between April 1, 2024 and April 7, 2024. Files accessed during the attack may have included personal information like names and Social Security numbers.

Autobell denies any wrongdoing, and no court has ruled on the merits of the claims. Both sides chose to settle rather than continue the lawsuit's cost, risk, and delay.

The settlement is still pending final court approval. A hearing to decide whether to grant that approval is scheduled for November 9, 2026, following the court's preliminary sign-off.

You may qualify if Autobell notified you that your personal information was affected by the Data Incident. Benefits are only paid to those who submit a valid Claim Form by the deadline, if you take no action, you'll remain part of the settlement but won't receive anything, and you'll lose the right to sue Autobell separately over these claims.

What you need to submit depends on the benefit you choose. Reimbursement claims for out-of-pocket losses require third-party documentation, like receipts, self-prepared records alone won't count. Claims for lost time require a signed statement, made under penalty of perjury, explaining how that time was used. If you'd rather take the flat cash payment or only want credit monitoring, no documentation is needed. The Claim Form itself asks for your name, contact information, chosen benefits, signature, date, and your "Unique ID" if you have it. Filing online also requires the Unique ID and PIN found on your mailed notice. The Settlement Administrator may follow up for more information before finalizing your claim.

To find out if you're covered, check for a notice mailed to you, Autobell's own records were used to identify class members, so you may have already received communication directly from the company.
