Case overview

What this settlement is about

If you bought a Bestway AirJet Spa Pump or Bestway HydroJet Spa Pump in the United States between May 2021 and May 2024 — specifically model P05332, P05339, P05711, P05807, P07000, P07001, P05511, P07034, or P07572 — this settlement may apply to you. Plaintiffs claim Bestway sold defective spa pumps that could catch fire; Bestway denies wrongdoing, and the Court hasn't ruled on the merits.

There are two separate processes here. First, in August 2024, Bestway and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled these pumps, offering owners a replacement pump or a cash refund — that recall is handled directly by Bestway. Second, this lawsuit followed, arguing the recall didn't go far enough, and it provides additional compensation on top of whatever the recall already paid out.

Under the settlement, Bestway will extend the warranty by one year for anyone who received a replacement pump through the recall, and will pay up to $75.00 in cash to eligible claimants who file valid claims. The total settlement fund is capped at $2,000,000.00.

Because this payout builds on the recall, the steps you take depend on your situation. If you still own the pump but haven't gone through the recall yet, you must do that first at https://bestwayusa.com/recall-and-safety — this gets you a replacement or refund plus the claim number needed for the settlement. If you still have the pump and already received a recall refund, you'll need to supply your Spa Pump Recall Claim Number (call Bestway at (888) 943-2396 if you've lost it). If you no longer have the pump, you skip the recall step entirely but must show proof of purchase.

To actually file a claim, check for a notice sent by mail or email — your Unique ID appears on the front of the postcard if you got one. If you can't locate your Unique ID and PIN, or never received a notice, you can still file without logging in, or email the Settlement Administrator at info@SpaPumpClassActionSettlement.com with your full name and mailing address to request them.
